Painting has been a huge part of my life for as long as I can remember. My days are planned each morning with a list of jobs to do to keep me on track as I have a butterfly brain and am very easily distracted especially if there is something humorous or beautiful that just has to be sketched along the way.
I have been painting my quirky characters since the age of twelve when I began making sketches of my Mum and the neighbours in their gardens. These soon became popular and by the age of thirteen I was working on small commissions for personalised birthday cards and posters for local charity events.
I studied at Cheltenham College of Art where my passion for all things creative grew and I was able to enjoy working in ceramics and metalwork along side all the traditional methods of painting and printmaking, watercolours, oils and drawing, drawing, drawing anything, everyone and everything.
Over the years since leaving Art College I have returned to my original quirky themes, encouraged by publishers and art collectors alike. It has been a joy to share my sense of humour and colour and to realise how many friends I have made through my work. To be able to bring a smile to a strangers face though my work is so rewarding and uplifting that I feel I shall be painting forever.
